Running For Mayor the Adventure Begins

When I filed to run for Mayor, I was happy that Lindy Crawford, our City Manager, reached out and invited me to meet with her and all the department heads. As the campaign unfolds, I will be writing about what I am learning about the issues concerning our City Administrators and how I might be able to help our city.

My first interview was with Rick Juba. The Minnesota City/County Managers Association (MCMA) awards one local government manager with the Outstanding Service Award each year. The award “recognizes and celebrates members who have made contributions to MCMA, the public management profession, and/or their organization. Award recipients play crucial roles in their organization by providing leadership from a non-CEO role. These individuals are dedicated to a career as a local government professional and demonstrate a passion for ethical public service.”

We are proud to share that Assistant City Manager Rick Juba received the prestigious award this year! Juba has been a dedicated member of White Bear Lake’s leadership team for eight years. Please help us congratulate Assistant City Manager Juba on this much deserved recognition.

Rick lead me through the general organization of the City departments. I was impressed with Rick’s experience and positive attitude. Rick is really a nice, smart guy. Glad to have him on the team.
