Dave went to college at Bond University, Australia.  He came back with Nicarla, his future wife.

When Dave came back, he asked me if he could have a graduation party.  I said sure, but you need to close it down at 1:00 AM.  Deal.

On the night of the party, we have about 50 kids, a DJ, and lots of food.  We live on Birch Lake and the music was blasting across the lake.

About 11:00 PM the White Bear Police show up.  The neighbors had complained, and I was asked to turn the volume down.  Then I got an idea.  The police have a tag line “To Protect and Serve”.  I wondered if they would serve me.  I asked the officer if he would do me a favor.  Please come back at 1:00 AM and shut us down.

Dave is a master debater, and I knew I would have a fight on my hands at 1:00 AM.

Sure enough, the police came back at 1:00 AM and shut us down.  They stayed until my house was clear of guests.

That is one reason why I love the White Bear police department!
